The Role

We are seeking a capable and detail-oriented Solid Plasterer to support the delivery of high-quality internal and external finishes across a range of projects. This role involves working with a variety of plastering materials and techniques to ensure surfaces are prepared, applied, and finished to professional standards.

The position is suited to someone with foundational experience who is looking to further develop their skills within a structured and quality-driven environment.

Key Responsibilities

i. Determining plasterboard layouts and preparing surfaces, including installation of insulation and vapour barriers where required

ii. Measuring, marking, cutting, lifting, and securing plasterboard panels to walls, ceilings, and battens

iii. Preparing and fixing corner beads, mouldings, cornices, and other plaster fittings

iv. Mixing and applying plaster, cement render, and related materials using appropriate tools and techniques

v. Applying multiple coats and ensuring surfaces are levelled and finished to uniform thickness

vi. Covering joints, seams, and fixings using plaster and sealing compounds, followed by smoothing and finishing

vii. Aligning and straightening corners, angles, and wall and ceiling surfaces to achieve accurate finishes

viii. Carrying out patching, repair, and remedial work to existing plastered or rendered surfaces

ix. Creating textured or decorative finishes in accordance with project specifications

x. Applying acoustic, insulating, and fire-resistant materials where required

xi. Working from plans, specifications, and site instructions to ensure consistency across all works

xii. Maintaining a clean and safe work environment in line with workplace health and safety requirements

Skills and Experience

i. Minimum 1 year of relevant industry experience in plastering or rendering

ii. Practical understanding of plastering systems, materials, and application techniques

iii. Ability to produce consistent, high-quality finishes across different surfaces

iv. Strong attention to detail and commitment to workmanship standards

v. Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team

vi. Good organisational and time management skills

Qualifications and Requirements

i. AQF Certificate III in a relevant field with at least 2 years on-the-job training, or higher qualification such as Certificate IV in relevant field.

ii. Additional industry experience may be required to support practical competency

iii. Any applicable licences or registrations (if required by state regulations)
