About the Role

MSOFT Technologies Pty Ltd is seeking a motivated and skilled Software Engineer to join our growing development team in Canberra. The successful candidate will contribute to the design, development, testing, and implementation of software solutions that support business operations and client requirements.

What You'll Be Doing

1. Designs, develops, modifies, documents, tests, implements, installs and supports software applications and systems.
2. Analysing business and user requirements and translating them into technical specifications and system designs.
3. Collaborating with cross-functional teams including product managers, analysts, and developers to deliver software solutions.
4. Writing clean, efficient, and maintainable code using modern programming languages and frameworks.
5. Participating in the full software development life cycle, including planning, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance.
6. Identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving software issues and bugs in a timely manner.
7. Undertaking unit testing and system testing to ensure reliability and performance of software applications.
8. Developing user stories and liaising with business stakeholders to clarify functional requirements.
9. Providing technical guidance and support to junior developers when required.
10. Continuously improving software performance, scalability, and maintainability

What We're Looking For

1. Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Software Engineering, Electronics and Telecommunications or a related field.
2. At least 2 years of relevant software development experience.
3. Experience working with Agile or Scrum software development methodologies.
4. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to develop innovative technical solutions.
5. Excellent communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively within a team environment.
6. Commitment to continuous learning and staying up-to-date with emerging technologies and industry best practices

Programming Languages : Java, C++, SQL, Python, Perl

Frameworks & Technologies : Spring Boot, React JS, JMeter, Apache Kafka, JUnit, HTML, CSS

Databases : MongoDB, Oracle SQL, Cassandra, Microsoft SQL Server

Developer Tools : Git, Docker, Maven, Grafana, Prometheus

Other Skills : Data Structures and Algorithms, Jenkins, SonarQube, JIRA, Object-Oriented Programming (OOPS), Agile methodologies, AWS services (EC2, S3, IAM), AI/LLM such as Claude AI
