About the role
As a key technical specialist, this role is responsible for identifying and implementing condition monitoring solutions that enhance the performance, reliability, and compliance of the PTA’s rail network. You’ll provide expert engineering support across a range of functions, contributing directly to the operational performance of the branch and the reliability of critical assets. You’ll also play an active role in building a positive safety culture and supporting continuous improvement through your insights, technical competence, and engagement with divisional and branch objectives.
This position offers a diverse range of responsibilities, including providing technical leadership on design and documentation, supporting asset management and renewal programs, and ensuring compliance with relevant legislation and standards. You’ll contribute to the development of technical specifications, risk management practices, and safety investigations, while also liaising with contractors to coordinate condition monitoring activities. There is currently one fixed term opportunity available to 14 November 2025 with the possibility of renewal and/or permanency. Applicants assessed as suitable through this process may be used to fill similar vacancies on a fixed term or permanent basis that may arise within the next 12 months.
