About our school 
Southern Cross Catholic College is a Prep to Year 12 school offering families a co-educational pathway to life-long learning. The College was founded in 1995 following the amalgamation of the Catholic primary and secondary schools in the Moreton Bay Region.  

The multi-campus College operates as the principal Catholic College on the Redcliffe peninsula. Southern Cross Catholic College has three campuses located in Scarborough, Kippa Ring and Woody Point accommodating students in Prep to Year 6 and a fourth campus in Scarborough accommodating middle and senior years students from Year 7 to 12.   • Work hours: 16 hours per week, 4 hour days - Mon, Tues, Thurs and Fri
  • Salary: $34.17/hour - $35.62/hour + super

About the opportunity

Southern Cross Catholic College - Woody Point Campus is seeking two School officers to support in the classroom four days a week, four hours a day.

In this position you will be responsible for:

  • Assisting with the planning, preparation and delivery of effective learning and teaching programs for students including the use technology and learning support activities
  • Monitoring the progress of students and identifing learning areas to provide evidence-based intervention strategies
  • Improving student learning outcomes by providing support and advice on supporting students with diverse learning needs
  • Collaborating with school specialists in organising and assisting with intervention groups to coordinate services
  • Documenting observation notes, intervention programs and assist in the collation and preparation of classroom materials.

About you

To be successful in this position you will bring relevant contemporary skills and experience including:

  • Strong skills in planning, preparing, and delivering effective teaching programs
  • Ability to monitor student progress and apply evidence-based interventions
  • Expertise in supporting diverse learning needs to improve student outcomes
  • Collaborative skills to work with specialists and coordinate intervention groups
  • Proficient in documenting observations, managing intervention programs, and preparing classroom materials
  • Certificate III in Education Support
  • For this position you are not required to be Catholic.

Eligibility and Safeguarding requirements: 

  • Eligibility to work in Australia for the duration of the appointment
  • Hold a Paid Employee Positive Notice Blue Card prior to commencement.
