Mobil Guthalungra Roadhouse is a busy highway service stop located in Guthalungra, Queensland. The roadhouse provides fuel, convenience retail, food, and essential services to truck drivers, travellers, and the local community. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Retail Manager to oversee the daily operations of our retail section and ensure excellent customer service and efficient business performance.
Position Overview
The Retail Manager will be responsible for managing the retail operations of the roadhouse, ensuring adequate stock levels, supervising staff, and maintaining high standards of customer service and store presentation.
Key Responsibilities
• Manage the day-to-day operations of the retail store to ensure smooth and efficient service.
• Determine appropriate product range, stock levels, and service standards to meet customer demand.
• Develop and implement purchasing strategies and coordinate ordering of merchandise and supplies.
• Plan and implement promotional and marketing activities to increase sales and customer engagement.
• Set and review pricing strategies for retail products in line with business objectives.
• Provide excellent customer service and assist customers with product enquiries and purchases.
• Maintain accurate records of stock levels, sales transactions, and financial activities.
• Monitor inventory levels, organise stock rotation, and ensure timely restocking of shelves.
• Prepare budgets, monitor expenses, and contribute to financial planning for the retail operations.
• Recruit, train, and supervise retail staff, ensuring they follow company policies and service standards.
• Create staff rosters and manage workforce requirements to ensure adequate coverage during busy periods.
• Ensure the store is clean, organised, and well-presented at all times.
• Ensure compliance with workplace health and safety regulations and company policies.
• Monitor store performance, identify opportunities for improvement, and implement operational strategies to increase efficiency and profitability.
Skills and Experience
• Previous experience in retail management, convenience store operations, or a similar role.
• Strong leadership, organisational, and communication skills.
• Ability to manage staff and maintain high customer service standards.
• Good understanding of stock control, budgeting, and retail operations.
• Ability to work flexible hours including weekends, evenings, and public holidays.
