Frank Herbert veg are seeking an experienced, hands-on Quality Assurance Manager to lead and strengthen company’s quality and food-safety systems across the warehouse and supply chain. The role is responsible for maintaining compliance with food-safety standards, driving continuous improvement in product quality, managing supplier quality and traceability, and coaching staff in best practice QA processes. The ideal candidate combines technical food-safety knowledge with practical operational experience in fresh produce or a related food environment.
Qualifications and Experience requirements:
- Relevant bachelor degree.
- Minimum of one year experience in quality assurance, food safety or quality management—experience in fresh produce, horticulture or perishable foods is highly desirable.
- Practical knowledge of HACCP principles and experience implementing/managing food-safety systems.
- Experience with third-party food-safety standards and audits
- Demonstrated experience conducting audits, root cause analysis and implementing corrective actions.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities:
- Own and maintain the company’s food safety and quality management systems (HACCP, QA documentation, traceability and recall procedures).
- Lead internal audits and coordinate external audits/ certifications and regulatory inspections.
- Develop, monitor and report on quality KPIs (rejects, customer complaints, compliance rates) and implement corrective and preventive actions.
- Perform product inspections, sampling and testing procedures; manage non-conformance investigations and root-cause analysis.
- Manage supplier onboarding and supplier quality assurance activities, including audits, specification compliance and performance monitoring.
- Work closely with Supply Chain, Procurement and Operations to ensure product specification adherence, cold-chain integrity and timely corrective actions.
- Maintain and improve traceability systems and recall readiness; coordinate any recall communications and investigations.
- Create and maintain quality documentation, records and SOPs; ensure version control and staff accessibility.
- Train, mentor and coach warehouse and operational staff on quality, hygiene and food-safety best practices.
- Drive continuous improvement projects to reduce waste, improve yields and enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.

- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills; able to engage operational teams and external suppliers.
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment (warehouse/fresh produce market).
- Confident leading training, change management and continuous improvement initiatives.
- Sound knowledge of relevant food safety legislation and regulatory requirements (FSANZ/State health regulators) is an advantage.
