We develop all of our mixes ourselves & bake our breads fresh in our completely gluten-free bakery in Melbourne. Role Summary:

The Production Engineer / Plant Engineer is responsible for supporting and improving the bakery’s manufacturing operations, plant efficiency, equipment reliability, production flow, and process performance across the Knoxfield and Pakenham facilities.

This role focuses on ensuring that bakery production equipment, automated systems, and plant operations run safely, efficiently, and consistently to meet daily production targets, food safety requirements, and quality standards.

The position will work closely with management, production staff, maintenance personnel, and quality teams to optimise machinery performance, reduce downtime, improve workflow, and support continuous improvement initiatives within the manufacturing environment.

Key Responsibilities:

 Monitor and support daily production operations to ensure machinery and plant systems operate efficiently and safely.

 Analyse bakery production processes and recommend engineering improvements to increase productivity, consistency, and output.

 Assist in planning, organising, and improving production workflows across mixing, proofing, baking, cooling, slicing, packaging, and dispatch functions.

 Ensure production equipment is operating in accordance with manufacturing schedules and operational requirements.

 Investigate plant bottlenecks, equipment inefficiencies, and process interruptions, and implement practical engineering solutions. Required Background:

Qualifications and Experience

Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering,

At least 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing, food production, industrial processing, or plant engineering environment
