Your Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and motivated Product Development Engineer to join our Innovation team here at B&D Group. This role is pivotal in driving product development, engineering support, and continuous improvement initiatives that enhance B&D Group’s business development, profitability, competitiveness, and sustainability practices.

As a Product Development Engineer, you will design and develop new products, components, manufacturing systems, implement engineering support measures along with improving on the current product range through continuous improvement.

You will join a stable, innovative team that look to challenge the industry and take pride in their quality of work.

Responsibilities

  • Projects are managed with a plan and process mindset with an efficient and effective use of project management tools aligned with B&D’s stage gate process
  • Using your vast skills in 3D CAD software and proficiency in DFM you will develop products which are efficient to manufacture, easy to install, align with our brand promise along with an overarching focus on product quality
  • With a continuous improvement mindset, you will enhance product quality and competitiveness and support manufacturing to gain maximum utility, quality, and safety

Skills and Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree, Mechanical Engineering, and/or demonstrable experience
  • Experience in mechanical design and end-to-end product development
  • Expert in SolidWorks (3D/2D), system analysis tools, and engineering drawing standards
  • Skilled in materials tech (plastics/metals) and manufacturing processes
  • Proficient in design and analysis methods: DFA, DFM, DFMEA, FMEA, FEA
  • Strong ERP knowledge (SAP or equivalent) and cost-effective product design
  • Effective communicator with solid project management and documentation skills
