What’s the role:
Macheda Transport is seeking an experienced and motivated Procurement Manager to oversee end-to-end procurement, logistics, warehousing, and inventory operations across our transport and storage business.
Reporting to senior management, this role is responsible for ensuring cost-effective sourcing, efficient supply operations, and reliable service delivery aligned with operational requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan, organise, direct, and control procurement, storage, and distribution activities.
- Develop and implement procurement and inventory strategies to maintain required stock levels at minimum cost.
- Manage supplier sourcing, RFQs, tenders, and commercial negotiations to meet quality, cost, and delivery standards.
- Oversee logistics operations including freight coordination, warehousing, and distribution.
- Monitor inventory systems, stock movement, and re-ordering to ensure operational continuity.
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and customers regarding material, transport, and service requirements.
- Ensure accurate recording of purchasing, storage, and distribution transactions.
- Drive continuous improvement, cost optimisation, and process efficiency.
- Lead, supervise, and develop staff involved in procurement, supply chain, and warehousing.
- Ensure compliance with safety, OH&S, and operational standards.
Who are you:
- 5+ years’ experience in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or transport operations.
- Strong commercial and negotiation skills with supplier and contract management experience.
- Proven ability to manage inventory, logistics, and warehousing operations.
- Confident communicator with strong stakeholder and team leadership skills.
- Highly organised, proactive, and focused on operational efficiency and cost control.
