Lead and uplift a project management practice within a major banking environment.
Your new company
You will be joining a well-established financial services organisation operating within a highly regulated banking environment. The business is continuing to strengthen its change capability and is investing in uplifting its project management practice to support strategic initiatives across the enterprise.
This is a mature and structured environment, with a diverse team of experienced project professionals and emerging talent, where strong governance and delivery credibility are equally important.
Your new role
As the Project Management Practice Lead, you will lead and develop a team of approximately 15 project professionals, with accountability for strengthening project standards, governance, and delivery capability across the organisation.
This is not a role responsible for managing individual project timelines or running day-to-day delivery. Instead, you will focus on uplifting the project management practice, embedding consistent frameworks, strengthening risk and control disciplines, and ensuring alignment from strategic planning through to execution.
A key part of this role is leading by example. You will provide practical guidance and coaching to Project Managers based on real delivery experience, helping to build confidence, capability and consistency across the team.
You will work closely with senior stakeholders across business and technology, supporting business planning, quarterly planning and portfolio alignment within a regulated banking context.
What you'll need to succeed
To be successful in this role, you will bring:
This role is suited to someone who has moved beyond pure project delivery but retains strong delivery credibility, and who can uplift a team through experience rather than theory alone. Candidates with a purely PMO, reporting or governance-only background will not be suitable, and banking experience is essential.
