Townsville University Hospital is home to a National Association of Diabetes Centres (NADC) Centre of Excellence in High Risk Foot Services, recognised nationally for its advanced clinical practice, research activity, and commitment to improving outcomes for people with complex foot conditions.
Within this environment, podiatrists endorsed by the Australian Health Practitioner Regulation Agency (AHPRA) are supported to safely prescribe Scheduled Medicines as part of their clinical practice. The department also actively supports podiatrists seeking endorsement, providing structured supervision, clinical exposure, and professional development opportunities to progress their endorsement pathway.
