Blackwood Piggery is a long-established pig farming operation located in Victoria’s West Gippsland region.

1. Key ResponsibilitiesPlan, organise and manage pig production cycles including breeding, farrowing, weaning and finishing
2. Implement and monitor breeding programs to optimise herd performance and productivity
3. Oversee feeding and nutrition programs, ensuring efficient feed usage and livestock growth
4. Monitor animal health and welfare, identify issues early and coordinate treatment or veterinary support
5. Maintain and enforce strict biosecurity measures across all piggery operations
6. Supervise housing conditions including ventilation, temperature control and hygiene standards
7. Coordinate daily operations such as farrowing supervision, piglet care, vaccinations and stock movement
8. Manage infrastructure including sheds, pens, water systems and waste management processes
9. Maintain accurate production records and analyse data to improve operational efficiency
10. Organise sale, purchase and transport of livestock in line with market requirements
11. Monitor farm performance, costs and productivity, and assist in budgeting and planning
12. Supervise and train staff, ensuring compliance with operational procedures and safety standards
13. Ensure compliance with Australian animal welfare, biosecurity and workplace safety regulations
