The Flour House is seeking a skilled and passionate Pastry Cook to join our kitchen team. The ideal candidate will have a love for baking, strong attention to detail, and the ability to produce high-quality pastries, desserts, and baked goods in a fast-paced environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare, bake, and finish a range of pastries, cakes, desserts, breads, and other baked items
- Follow recipes, portion controls, and presentation standards consistently
- Assist with decorating and plating pastries and desserts
- Ensure all products are fresh, of high quality, and produced on time
- Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering ingredients and supplies
- Maintain a clean, organised, and hygienic work area at all times
- Follow food safety, sanitation, and workplace health and safety procedures
- Work closely with the kitchen team to support daily operations and service periods
- Assist with new menu items and seasonal pastry offerings where required
Skills and Experience
- Previous experience as a Pastry Cook, Baker, or similar role
- Relevant culinary or pastry qualifications are a must with Knowledge of pastry preparation, baking techniques, and dessert production- minimum of Certificate 3 - certificate 4 in patisserie preferred.
- Ability to work efficiently in a busy kitchen environment
- Strong attention to detail and presentation
- Good time management and organisational skills
- Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
- Understanding of food safety standards and kitchen hygiene practices
