About the Position:
The Motor Mechanic (General) role at KK & SS PTY LTD involves maintaining, testing, and repairing petrol engines and mechanical components of lightweight motor vehicles, ensuring they operate safely and efficiently. This position encompasses diagnosing faults, performing repairs on systems such as transmissions, suspension, steering, and brakes, and conducting scheduled maintenance to meet regulatory standards. It plays a crucial role in upholding the company's commitment to high-quality service, contributing directly to customer satisfaction and the overall success of the workshop by keeping vehicles roadworthy and reliable.
Key Responsibilities:
Detect and diagnose mechanical and electrical faults in engines and vehicle parts.
Dismantle and remove engine assemblies, transmissions, steering mechanisms, and other components, then inspect parts for wear or defects.
Repair and replace worn or defective parts, and reassemble mechanical components according to service manuals.
Perform scheduled maintenance services, including oil changes, lubrications, and engine tune-ups, to optimise vehicle performance and ensure compliance with pollution regulations.
Inspect vehicles and issue roadworthiness certificates, or detail required work to achieve compliance.
Respond to vehicle breakdowns and provide on-site assistance when necessary.
Communicate effectively with customers about vehicle issues, repairs needed, and completed work.
Requirements:
Australian citizens and permanent residents are encouraged to apply.
Required qualifications: Certificate III in Light Vehicle Mechanical Technology or equivalent nationally recognised qualification.
Required experience: At least 1 year of full-time relevant work in motor mechanics
Required technical and interpersonal skills: Strong diagnostic and repair abilities using tools and equipment; proficiency in working with engines, transmissions, brakes, and suspension systems; excellent problem-solving skills; effective communication for explaining technical issues to customers; teamwork to collaborate in a busy workshop environment; and attention to detail for ensuring safety and compliance.
