Metal Machinists and Metal Polishers

The Job Role

We are looking for experienced Metal Machinists and Metal Polishers to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry.

Metal Machinists

1. All-rounder Metal Machinist
2. Operate, set & program our CNC Milling Machine & CNC Lathes
3. You will be provided with engineering drawings &, either through altering existing programs, or, by writing new programs
4. You will be expected to complete the manufacture of parts to comply with exacting customer requirements

Metal Polishers

1. Polishing of stainless-steel metal components to clean finishes;
2. Operate within safety guidelines and any operating procedures;
3. Liaise with Production Manager to ensure jobs are completed on time;
4. Clean and maintain work area and equipment;
5. Grinding, Deburring;
6. Polishing out weld seams.

Qualifications & Requirements

1. CNC Machinist Trade background but experienced welders encouraged to apply
2. We require someone who is versatile, reliable & motivated
3. A keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude
4. Willingness to gain knowledge & skills as well as an understanding of production is highly desirable
5. Relevant trade qualifications
6. At least 3 years experience
7. Strong CAM skills
8. Strong Machining skills
9. Strong understanding of tooling applications
10. An ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team environment
11. High standard of safety awareness & culture

Salary: $60,000 - $75,000 annually

Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering is a small, locally owned company based in Ingham, with workshops in Townsville & Ingham that provides engineering, drafting, fabrication, fitting, machining, blasting & painting services. We also repair damaged transporters and fabricate spare parts and other agricultural equipment.
