Marine business is seeking experienced marine upholster

Due to the specific requirements of the business, we require highly specialized upholster with an experience in boating industry, who can provide exceptional quality work on new boats upholstery (boat covers) as well as restoration of old upholstery.

General tasks include, but are not limited to:

  1. Constructing and repairing wooden, plastic of fiberglass frames, and removing, replacing and reconstructing foam
  2. Read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and conceptual hand sketches associated to the project
  3. Perform precise measurements and cuts on marine canvas materials using shears, razors, hot knives, chop saws, and other necessary power tools to complete assigned tasks.
  4. Revising quotes for existing projects (if/when required) and addressing production issues as needed, including consulting with clients to determine materials and costs for furniture items to be made or repaired
  5. Removing old coverings, webbing, and padding from furniture
  6. Accurately transfer dimensions to marine canvas, fabrics, leathers, and other materials using tape measures, squares, and various marking and layout tools.
  7. Preparing mattresses and other components based on project-specific templates and measurements
  8. Attaching decorative trims, braids, and buttons
  9. Padding and covering spring units for mattress upholstery
  10. Seaming cushions and joining sections of covering material
  11. Measuring, cutting, and covering furniture materials
  12. Securing materials, padding, springs, and webbing to items for upholstery as per project specifications
  13. Sewing, Cutting and shaping new foam according to measurements
  14. Patterning and designing
  15. Preparing products for final installation and completing installations on boats, yachts, and other specified projects
  16. Follow prescribed safety rules and OSHA regulations while maintaining a safe, clean work area.

Additionally:

  1. May involve finishing wooden of fiberglass surfaces on furniture
  2. Perform other related duties specified by project when/if requested
