An exciting opportunity is available for a Manufacturing Technician to join a biotechnology manufacturing facility in Moonee Ponds supporting the production of pharmaceutical and biotech products.
This role will suit someone with experience in biotech, pharmaceutical, or GMP manufacturing environments who enjoys hands-on production work while also contributing to process improvements and new product introductions.
You will play a key role supporting manufacturing operations, as well as assisting with the commissioning, qualification and validation of new manufacturing processes and equipment.
The Role As a Manufacturing Technician, you will support both day-to-day manufacturing activities and manufacturing project work within a regulated GMP facility.
Your responsibilities will include:
Manufacturing & Production
- Supporting the production of biotech or pharmaceutical products in a GMP environment
- Preparing solutions and materials for manufacturing processes
- Operating and monitoring small and large-scale bioreactors
- Performing fermentation and downstream processing activities
- Supporting formulation, filling and packaging operations
- Maintaining sterile and aseptic manufacturing techniques
- Cleaning and sterilising plant equipment and production areas
Process & Project Support
- Assisting with commissioning, qualification and validation of new processes and equipment
- Supporting the introduction of new products and manufacturing methods
- Preparing and maintaining GMP documentation such as SOPs and risk assessments
- Assisting with process improvements and troubleshooting manufacturing issues
- Participating in cross-functional project teams
Quality, Compliance & Safety
- Ensuring all work is completed in accordance with GMP and regulatory standards
- Maintaining accurate production documentation and records
- Supporting internal and external audits
- Assisting with deviation investigations and CAPA activities
- Following strict environmental health and safety procedures
About You We are looking for someone who enjoys hands-on manufacturing work in a highly regulated environment.
Ideally you will have:
- A degree or qualification in microbiology, biotechnology, engineering or a related discipline
- Experience working in a GMP manufacturing environment (biotech, pharmaceutical or related industries)
- Exposure to fermentation, bioreactors, downstream processing or aseptic techniques (highly regarded)
- Strong attention to detail and ability to follow structured procedures
- Good organisational and documentation skills
- Confidence working in a cleanroom / controlled manufacturing environment
