About the Role
Due to increased work demands, High Velocity Technologies is currently seeking a Manual Machinist to join our growing team in our dynamic and busy Maddington workshop. As an experienced jobbing shop, staff work on a wide variety of HVOF and thermal spray, welding, machining, engineering and fabrication projects, and the ability to keep up with variable and challenging work scopes is a must.
Skills to bring to the Job:
- Work within tolerances of +- 0.01mm using metric and imperial units;
- Expertly use measuring equipment, such as surface finish indicators, micrometers, verniers, etc.
- Correctly interpret and apply engineering drawings, measuring equipment and company documentation
- Effectively use various manual lathes, vertical/horizontal borers, mills and hand tools.
- Experience with Cylindrical Grinding is an advantage – but training is provided.
Minimum Requirements:
- Forklift license (preferred) and dogging/rigging license (desired);
- Trade certificate (Fitter Machinist) or working towards completing trade certificate – desired;
- Current driver’s license (Unrestricted) (preferred);
- Experience with manual lathes, grinders, vertical/horizontal borers and mills;
- Excellent communication and teamwork skills;
- A proactive and positive attitude towards HSEQ and continual improvement; and,
Salary
The selected candidate will be receiving a salary within the range of $35 - $45 per hour.

Working Monday to Friday, with flexible work arrangements and plenty of overtime available, HVT offers a competitive hourly rate (commensurate with skill level) with all applicable penalties, superannuation and entitlements. Super paid on all hours worked, uniforms, PPE and tooling are also supplied. Candidates wishing to expand and grow their skills will also be provided on-the-job training.
