Eurofins Environment Testing Australia is an Environmental testing network of fully accredited laboratories. With a staff of over 300 our laboratories are located in Sydney, Melbourne, Perth, Brisbane and with Client Service Offices located in Adelaide, Darwin, Newcastle and Wollongong. We also operate field sampling services out of Melbourne and Sydney. We specialise in all areas of Environmental analysis, including Contaminated Soil, Sludge, Sediments, Leachate, Soil Vapour, Trade Waste Effluents, Sewage Effluents, Stack Emissions, Work Place Air, Ambient Air, Dust, Drinking Water, Surface Water run off, River & Stream Monitoring, Seawater, and Groundwater. 

Job Description

• Casual position based in Girraween NSW, Australia
• Shift times: Monday to Friday; multiple shifts - 4AM to 12PM OR 12PM to 4AM OR 10PM to 2AM OR 8PM to 4AM
• An extra 1.5% superannuation paid on top of National standard rate.

Reporting to the Team Leader, a Laboratory Technician (Soil Weighout Officer) is responsible for the sub-sampling and weigh-out of samples, and transfer to the prep laboratory for extraction. Other duties include assisting with sample receipt as necessary. 

Key accountabilities will include but not limited to:

• Using the LIMS priority worklist to determine which job is next in priority for processing and printing out stickers for each container or subsample required.

• Homogenising and weighing subsamples and QA/QC.

• Transfer of subsamples to the appropriate section of the laboratory.

• Assist in sample receipt.

• Assist with sample disposal.

• General housekeeping.

• Act in accordance with the Eurofins Code of Ethics, and all other relevant policies and procedures, as updated from time to time.
