About the Role

We are seeking a compassionate and experienced House Coordinator (Residential Care Officer) to join our team in Gold Coast region. In this rewarding role, you will provide daily care and support to residents, ensuring their physical, emotional, and social needs are met, while promoting independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Manage client intake processes in collaboration with the Service Manager.
  2. Identify client needs and plan, develop, and implement care plans, skill development training and support programmes aligned with person-centred principles to enhance independence, in consultation with the Service Manager and other relevant stakeholders.
  3. Provide day-to-day holistic, client-centred support that promotes independence and wellbeing.
  4. Provide personal care, support, and supervision in line with individual care plans
  5. Assist and supervise residents with meals, hygiene, mobility, and recreational activities.
  6. Engaging with NDIS providers, community service organisations and other government bodies as needed.
  7. Monitor and document resident wellbeing, promptly reporting any changes.
  8. Connecting clients with organisations and other support groups that can provide additional help in consultation with relevant stake holders.
  9. Ensure compliance with health, safety, and quality standards.
  10. Collaborate with families and multidisciplinary teams to deliver holistic care.

Skills & Experience

  1. Diploma in Community Services (or equivalent qualification)
  2. Minimum two years’ experience as a Residential Care Officer
  3. Extensive experience working with people who have Behaviour Support Plans
  4. Proven experience in maintaining high quality standards
  5. Willingness to work on a roster, including weekends and sleepovers
  6. Strong communication and interpersonal skills
  7. Ability to work both independently and within a team
  8. Knowledge of person-centred and trauma-informed care practices

Preference for candidates who have completed the following trainings:

  3. Current First Aid training
  4. Manual handling training
  5. Medication training
  6. Epilepsy Training
  7. Continence and Catheter Care
  8. Management of Waste

  12. Personal Support and Care
  13. Standards Quality and Safeguarding
  14. Restrictive Practices (NDIS awareness)
