These roles have been created to make a step change, supporting the South Australian Government’s growth ambitions and proactively preparing for the scale and complexities of anticipated future demands. This group will provide a single point of accountability for growth and dedicated oversight, focus and responsibility.   

About the Job

Forming part of the newly created Growth Business Group, and reporting into the Manager Growth Intelligence, our Growth Intelligence Collection Officer will actively seek, collate, and manage growth intelligence data to support SA Water's strategic growth objectives. Working collaboratively with their internal and external stakeholders, they will ensure intelligence is accurate, available and produced in a timely manner to support with driving decision making and business planning across SA Water.

About the Person

The ideal person for the Growth Intelligence Collection Officer is analytical, detail-orientated and passionate about turning into actionable insights, they will be skilled in sourcing, collating, and managing growth intelligence data to support SA Water’s strategic growth objectives.

With a keen eye for patterns and trends, they will analyse data to forecast future needs and inform business strategies.

Our Growth Intelligence Collection Officer is committed to ensuring data integrity, accuracy and accessibility as their input will drive outcomes to support with informed decision-making across the organisation.  

Your responsibilities for this opportunity 

  • Elicit growth intelligence insights from the market, Major and Minor Land Development Account Managers, and Government Departments.
  • Obtain macro and microeconomic growth intelligence data for strategic decision-making.
  • Collect growth servicing strategies, investments, and capacity mapping from the Growth and Systems Planning teams.
  • Gather data on actual water and wastewater demand, usage, and capacity from various teams.
  • Provide regular insights and reporting on growth intelligence to key internal teams.
  • Analyse growth intelligence data to identify trends, forecast future needs, and inform business strategies.

Your success in this role will come from: 

  • Tertiary qualification in a relevant field such as Business, Economics, Environmental Science, or Engineering.
  • Strong experience in data collection and analysis, preferably within the utilities or infrastructure sector.
  • Demonstrated ability to build relationships and collaborate effectively with both internal and external stakeholders.
  • Strong communication and reporting skills, with the ability to convey complex data in a clear and actionable manner.
  • High proficiency in data management systems and tools, with experience in reporting and data visualisation.
