About Us
Manuka Cafe Pty Ltd operates Bluewater Cafe in Manly, New South Wales, a dine-
in hospitality venue in a high-traffic beachfront area serving local residents and
visitors. The venue operates seven days per week for breakfast, lunch and dinner,
offering café-style and modern Australian meals with Japanese and Vietnamese
influences.
Position Overview
As a Chef, you will perform daily kitchen operations including food preparation and
service, ensuring consistent food quality, presentation and food safety standards in a
fast-paced kitchen environment.
Key Responsibilities
Prepare and cook menu items according to recipes and service requirements using
standard kitchen equipment
Maintain food quality, portion control and presentation standards throughout
preparation and service
Assist with menu updates and seasonal improvements, including preparation
planning and ingredient quantities
Provide guidance to kitchen staff in food preparation, cooking techniques and food
safety practices
Coordinate with front-of-house staff to ensure timely service
Assist with ordering, storage and rotation of ingredients to support daily operations
and minimise wastage
Follow food safety, hygiene and WHS requirements to maintain a clean and safe
kitchen environment
Requirements
+ Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or equivalent
+ Minimum 1 year experience as a Chef in a fast-paced kitchen environment
+ Good understanding of food safety and kitchen procedures
+ Ability to work independently and manage service during busy periods
+ Demonstrated leadership and communication skills
+ Reliable and organised with a positive team attitude
+ Availability to work weekends and public holidays
