Summit Hotel Group Pty Ltd T/A First Basin Cafe Bistro is looking for a qualified and experienced Full-time Chef to join our team.

Salary Range – $75,000 - $85,000

Business Location – West Launceston TAS 7250

Responsibilities:

  1. Preparation and cooking of food in accordance with our menu. Ensuring food handling and storage is in accordance with food handling regulations and is of the highest standard.
  2. Oversee food plating and garnishing, maintaining consistency and artistic presentation.
  3. Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements.
  4. Create and test new recipes, experimenting with Flavors and
  5. techniques to innovate the menu.
  6. Regulate the temperature of stoves and oven to ensure the dishes are
  7. cooked at appropriate levels.
  8. Check food is stored and handled as per food health and hygiene regulations.
  9. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations, maintaining a clean and organized kitchen.
  10. Help with planning of menu items and estimation of food requirements.

Skills and Qualifications:

  1. AQF associate degree, Certificate III, Certificate IV, or Diploma certification in relevant Hospitality qualification.
  2. Prior Experience as a Chef.
  3. Strong Knowledge of Cooking Methods and operating kitchen tools and equipment.
  4. Ability to work Full Time.
