The Job Role
We are looking for experienced Fitters / Turners / Machinists to join us at Carta & Co Fabrication & Engineering and be part of supporting the sugarcane & engineering Industry.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Fanuc controls
- Mastercam
- Horizontal Machining Centres
- Horizontal Borers
- Double Column Machining Centres
- Reviewing engineering plans, materials, specifications & machining parameters; interpreting geometric dimensions & tolerances.
- CNC programming, setting & operating Turning Centres & Machining Centres
- Prepare CAM programs for a range of machines, 3, 4 & 5 axis including Multitask Machines, Turning Centres & Machining Centres.
- Verifying settings by measuring positions, first-run part & sample work pieces: adhering to Australian standards
- Detecting malfunctions; adjusting & reprogramming controls: sharpening & replacing worn tools; adhering to quality assurance procedures & processes.
- Maintaining safe operations by adhering to safety procedures & regulations
- Maintaining equipment with preventative maintenance
Qualifications & Requirements
- CNC Machinist Trade background
- We require someone who is versatile, reliable & motivated
- A keen eye for detail, a can-do attitude
- Willingness to gain knowledge & skills as well as an understanding of production is highly desirable
- Relevant trade qualifications
- At least 3 years experience
- Strong CAM skills
- Strong Machining skills
- Strong understanding of tooling applications
- An ability to work both autonomously as well as in a team environment
- High standard of safety awareness & culture
Salary: $60,000 to $75,000 annually
