BRAMS is seeking a full-time Family & Domestic Violence Case Worker based in Broome, WA.

In this role, you will work directly with Aboriginal women and their children, providing trauma-informed case management support to those experiencing or recovering from family and domestic violence.

You will support clients through complex and sensitive situations, helping them navigate pathways to safety, stability, and healing. This includes working across different program streams, depending on service needs, and providing both crisis and short-term structured support.

This is meaningful and rewarding work, where you will build trust, provide practical support, and play a key role in helping people move forward safely.

More specifically, your responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  1. Conducting risk assessments and developing culturally safe safety plans
  2. Managing a caseload of clients experiencing or recovering from family and domestic violence
  3. Coordinating referrals, advocacy, and wraparound support services
  4. Supporting clients with goal setting, recovery planning, and access to services
  5. Building strong, respectful relationships with clients based on trust and cultural understanding
  6. Maintaining accurate client records in line with organisational policies
  7. Working collaboratively with internal teams and external service providers
  8. Supporting community awareness and education initiatives where required

Bring Your Experience, Empathy, and Strength

You will bring experience in case management, community services, or a similar role where you have supported individuals through complex or sensitive situations.

Formal qualifications in community services or a related field will be well regarded, but are not essential. What matters most is your ability to work respectfully, professionally, and compassionately with clients.

Additionally, the following skills and background will be highly valued:

  1. Experience supporting clients in challenging or high-risk situations
  2. Ability to conduct risk assessments and develop safety plans
  3. Strong communication, empathy, and relationship-building skills
  4. Emotional maturity and resilience when working with complex cases
  5. Ability to maintain professional boundaries while providing compassionate support
  6. A collaborative approach to working within a multidisciplinary team
  7. Understanding of culturally safe practices and working with Aboriginal communities

As our ideal candidate, you are someone who approaches your work with empathy, respect, and a strong sense of purpose. You are able to stay calm and grounded in challenging situations, build trust with clients, and provide consistent, thoughtful support.

You understand that this work requires both compassion and resilience, and you are committed to supporting people in a way that is safe, respectful, and empowering.

Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander people are strongly encouraged to apply.
