We are seeking a reliable and compassionate Disability Support Worker to join our team in a permanent full-time position.

About the Role
This role involves supporting NDIS participants within their homes and in the community. The position requires a combination of personal support, practical household assistance and community participation support.
The role also includes assisting participants to develop practical life skills including meal preparation, home organisation and maintaining a safe living environment.
Key Tasks and Responsibilities
· Provide in home disability supports in accordance with participant support plans and NDIS practice standards (may require bathing, grooming, toileting and dressing).
· Assist participants with activities of daily living including personal organisation, meal preparation and household routines.
· Support participants to prepare healthy meals and develop basic cooking skills within their home environment.
· Assist with light household tasks and basic home maintenance activities that support participant wellbeing and safe living conditions.
· Provide manual handling and mobility assistance where required.
· Support participants to attend appointments and access community activities.
· Maintain accurate progress notes and documentation in accordance with organisational policies and NDIS requirements.
· Follow participant safeguarding procedures, workplace safety protocols and behavioural support guidelines where applicable.
· Work collaboratively with other support workers, coordinators and health professionals involved in the participant’s care.
· Arrange and participant in social activities
· Perform shopping and run errands
· May be assisted to accommodate with the participant for short term
About You
The successful applicant will demonstrate a strong commitment to respectful and participant focused care.
You will have the ability to support individuals with different support needs in a calm, professional and practical manner.
Experience supporting people with disability, mental health conditions or complex needs will be highly regarded.
You must be comfortable assisting participants with practical daily living tasks including household organisation, meal preparation and community access.
Skills and Experience
· Experience working in disability support, aged care, community services or a similar support role.
· Ability to assist with home-based supports including cooking, basic household tasks and participant skill development.
· Confidence working independently within participant homes.
· Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
· Ability to maintain professional boundaries and follow participant care plans.
· Cultural awareness and ability to support people from diverse backgrounds.
· Additional languages may be advantageous where they support communication with culturally diverse participants.
· Experience assisting participants with culturally diverse food preparation or home cooking practices may also be advantageous.
Essential Requirements
· Cert III in Disability or related qualification.
· Current NDIS Worker Screening Check or willingness to obtain.
· Current First Aid and CPR certification.
· Valid Australian / international driver licence.
· Reliable vehicle and willingness to travel between participant homes.
· Ability to perform manual handling tasks safely.
· Right to work in Australia.
Salary
This role is paid in accordance with the Social, Community, Home Care and Disability Services Industry Award.
The full-time equivalent salary range for this role is between $69,000 AUD and $73,000 AUD per year plus superannuation and state legislation entitlements.
The advertised position is permanent full-time.
Penalty rates and allowances will apply where relevant, including evening, weekend and public holiday work in accordance with the SCHADS Award.
