About Us:
At Firefly HR, we redefine what it means to find exceptional talent in the education and care profession. We work exclusively with a select group of exceptional clients and candidates, ensuring that only the best are connected with the highest quality opportunities - like this one:

Director | Early Childhood Education (ECE) | Gladesville Area, Sydney

The Quick Details:

A service in great shape. A team that’s switched on. A small family run provider that’s backing you, genuinely and properly.

You’ve led before - managed rosters, coached educators, held compliance to the standard it deserves. But you’ve also been around long enough to know the difference between being titled a Director and being empowered as one. This is the latter.

Our client is an exceeding rated service that’s already running well. Strong culture, experienced team, clear systems, and no fire to put out. This isn’t about fixing - it’s about building on what’s already good, with the support and space to do it right.

It’s the kind of role where you’re set up to succeed, and supported every step of the way.

Why this role stands out:

  • Up to $130K + super + bonuses (pending experience / qualifications)
  • Off the floor / not required in ratio, but someone passionate on supporting and guiding others.
  • Focus on what matters most with a capable team supporting with admin, you’ll have space to lead
  • Staff discount on care, because looking after your family matters too
  • Lead a stable, experienced team that’s already thriving,  they’re ready for a great leader
  • Join a provider that actually walks its talk -  family founded, values led, and all about people
  • Smart systems = cut the admin noise, focus on people
  • Step into strength with strong enrolments, solid foundations, and the chance to make your mark

The service is ready. Are you?

You’ll be working in a well established service with a stable team and confident daily rhythms. This isn’t an environment where you’ll be stretched too thin or pulled in ten directions. It’s one where presence matters - a steady, trusted leader who knows how to grow people and keep the momentum going.

You’ll have support when you need it, and autonomy where it counts.
This is a provider that understands how hard this role is, and does something about it. There’s backup. There’s trust. And there’s bandwidth.

What you’ll focus on:

  • Providing calm, consistent leadership across the service
  • Maintaining a culture of trust and shared purpose
  • Ensuring compliance and quality remains strong
  • Deepening relationships with families and the wider community
  • Supporting educators to grow and stay
  • Thinking ahead, not just reacting to what’s in front of you - strategic vision

Who we’re looking for:

You’re a people first leader with a deep understanding of early childhood education - and the practical leadership to back it. You’re not chasing titles, you’re chasing purpose, impact, and a team that feels proud to work alongside you.

  • Experience as Director or strong 2IC
  • ECT preferred, however Diploma qualified leaders encouraged to apply
  • Deep understanding of the NQF and what quality really looks like
  • Warm communicator and strong culture builder
  • Someone who knows that leadership is more about presence than power

Child Safeguarding:

Looking for an individual that will understand, adhere to, and promote The National Principles for Child Safe Organisations (the Child Safe Standards). In your position, you will help to take action to promote child wellbeing and prevent harm to children and young people.
