Dental Assistant

Key Responsibilities

• Provide clinical assistance to the dentist and ensure a comfortable environment for patients and team members

• Comply with HCF Dental Quality Management System, policies, and procedures

• Maintain a clean, safe, and efficient clinical environment

• Support the Practice Manager and Dentist in Charge by fostering teamwork and smooth centre operations

Key Focus Areas

• Patient Flow: Monitor day sheets, coordinate patient appointments, and assist with emergency patients

• Chair Side Assisting: Prepare instruments and materials, assist during clinical procedures, and develop radiographs

• Surgery Organisation: Uphold infection control, manage surgery changeovers, and maintain stock and equipment

• Sterile Supply: Clean and sterilise instruments, validate sterilisation cycles, and maintain stock levels

• Work Health & Safety: Comply with WHS standards, report hazards, and participate in safety training

What We’re Looking For

Essential Skills & Qualifications

• Demonstrated dental knowledge and experience

• Neat appearance and commitment to personal hygiene

• Ability to maintain confidentiality, tact and diplomacy

• Demonstrated initiative and common sense

• Basic computer literacy

Desirable

• Reception experience or willingness to cross-train

• Qualifications in radiography, sterilising, and/or first aid

• Certificate III in Dental Assisting
