We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Full‑Time Cost Accountant Pacific Region to join our Finance Division at our St Leonards office

About the Role

The Cost Accountant will play a key role in delivering financial accounting, inventory accounting, transfer pricing including compliance and month‑end, quarter end, year end close activities in accordance with corporate reporting timelines and IFRS as well as CSOX control requirements. This position supports both local and global stakeholders and contributes to continuous improvement across financial operations.

Key Responsibilities

In this full‑time position, your core duties will include:

· Performing end-of-month, quarterly and annual financial close activities, including journals, reconciliations, and preparation of financial statements (profit and loss, balance sheet and cash flow reports)

· Developing and maintaining cost accounting systems, including product costing, inventory valuation, transfer pricing adjustments calculation, and standard costing processes

· Conducting detailed cost analysis, variance analysis, and root cause investigations to identify operational drivers and support business decision-making

· Preparing and analysing budgets, forecasts, and financial plans, incorporating operational and supply chain inputs to improve financial accuracy and planning outcomes

· Providing financial insights and performance analysis to management to support strategic planning, cost control, and operational efficiency

· Managing end-to-end inventory accounting processes, including inventory reconciliation, stock valuation, and data integrity across multiple systems (including SAP and internal global platforms)

· Monitoring and analysing financial performance, including margins, inventory movements, and cost structures, and providing recommendations for improvement

· Establishing, maintaining, and improving internal control systems and procedures, ensuring compliance with corporate policies, IFRS standards, and audit requirements

· Coordinating with internal and external auditors and preparing audit documentation to support financial and compliance reviews

· Supporting transfer pricing, cost allocation, and financial reporting processes to ensure compliance and transparency

· Ensuring accuracy and integrity of financial and operational data, including integration between finance and supply chain systems

· Acting as a key liaison between finance and operational teams (including supply chain), translating operational data into financial insights

· Identifying process improvement opportunities and implementing enhancements to financial systems, reporting processes, and cost management practices

· Assisting the Finance Manager and broader finance team with financial analysis, reporting, and business support activities

Qualifications & Experience (Essential)

To be considered for this role, applicants must meet the following minimum requirements:

Education & Professional Certification

  1. Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Commerce, or a related discipline.
  2. CPA or CA qualification (or working towards completion).

Experience

  1. Minimum of 1 year relevant cost accounting experience
  2. 5 years’ Experience in financial accounting, month‑end processes, and audit liaison.

Technical Skills

  1. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  2. Experience working with ERP systems (SAP Business One preferred).
  3. Familiarity with reporting tools such as Power BI or QlikSense is advantageous.
  4. AI tool efficient
