Shell Roadhouse & Streaky Bay Tourist Centre is currently seeking an experienced and motivated Cook to join our team on a full-time basis. This is a great opportunity to work in a fast-paced, customer-focused environment in a beautiful coastal location.

Key Responsibilities:
- Inspecting and selecting ingredients to ensure freshness, quality, and compliance with food safety standards
- Operating and monitoring cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, fryers, and stovetops to maintain consistent cooking conditions
- Preparing and cooking a variety of meals efficiently while maintaining high presentation standards
- Seasoning and flavouring dishes appropriately during preparation and cooking
- Portioning meals accurately and presenting them attractively with sauces, garnishes, and accompaniments
- Ensuring all food is stored correctly in temperature-controlled environments to maintain safety and quality
- Preparing meals to accommodate special dietary needs, including allergies and cultural requirements
- Assisting in menu planning, including suggesting new dishes and estimating food and ingredient requirements
- Monitoring stock levels, rotating inventory, and minimising food wastage
- Maintaining a clean and organised kitchen in line with hygiene and safety regulations
- Supervising, training, and supporting junior kitchen staff and apprentices
- Working collaboratively with team members to ensure smooth kitchen operations during busy service periods
Requirements:
- Relevant experience as a Cook or similar role
- Strong understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
- Good communication and teamwork skills
- Flexibility to work weekends, evenings, and public holidays
Salary: $70,000 to $80,000
