We are looking for a dedicated and reliable Cook to join our team at Ampol Bungama. This is a full-time role with a salary between $70,000 and $80,000, depending on your experience. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Key Responsibilities
- Check all food supplies and ingredients to make sure they’re fresh and high quality.
- Set and monitor temperatures on ovens, grills, fryers, and other cooking equipment.
- Prepare and cook a variety of meals to meet daily demands.
- Season dishes during cooking to get the taste just right.
- Portion food onto plates and add sauces, gravies, and garnishes for great presentation.
- Store food properly in fridges, freezers, and temperature-controlled areas.
- Cook special meals for dietary needs like allergies, vegetarian, or low-sugar diets.
- Help plan weekly menus and estimate how much food we’ll need.
- Train junior kitchen staff and apprentices on basic cooking skills.
- Keep your workstation clean and follow all food safety rules every shift.
- Assist with basic food prep like chopping vegetables, marinating meats, and making stocks.
What We Are Looking For
- Experience as a Cook in a busy kitchen (restaurant, café, service station, or similar).
- Solid skills in food prep, cooking methods, and portion control.
- Comfortable working fast while keeping food quality high.
- Good eye for detail in taste, look, and presentation of dishes.
- Team player with clear communication and a can-do attitude.
- Ready to work shifts, including weekends and public holidays.
