We pride ourselves on providing generous portions, fast service, and a welcoming dining experience for our customers, whether dining in or ordering takeaway.

Mathy Foods Corner is looking to hire a cook for the ongoing business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

1. Preparation of high-quality food according to menu plans.
2. To cook and season South Indian dishes (dosa, biryani, uthapam, samosas, puri, kothu, Sri Lankan breads, and Indo-Chinese dishes)
3. Work with specialised cooking equipment, such as the Dosa plate (Griddle), deep fryer, etc
4. Preparation for cooking the menu items, such as trimming, chopping, cutting, mixing, frying, baking, grilling, blanching, portioning food and making them ready to be served.
5. Ability to operate kitchen equipment.
6. Regulating temperatures of ovens, grills and other cooking equipment
7. Responsible for quality control of all dishes to ensure consistent taste, flavour, presentation and delivery.
8. Preparing food to meet special dietary requirements
9. Ensuring that the service line is fully stocked and immaculately presented
10. Maintaining an effective operation of the kitchen.
11. Ensuring strict compliance with hygiene and food safety requirements.
12. May plan the menu and estimate food requirements.
13. Attention to detail.
14. Training other kitchen staff and apprentices.

To be successful in this role, you must have:

1. A relevant trade qualification in Commercial Cookery, although substantial relevant work experience may be considered in lieu of formal qualifications.
2. Experience preparing Indian, South Indian, and Sri Lankan dishes in a commercial kitchen environment.
3. Good communication skills and a proactive attitude.
4. Strong attention to detail.
5. The ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced kitchen environment.
