Position: Cook
We are a busy Indian restaurant in Adelaide, known for authentic North Indian cuisine featuring rich flavours, traditional cooking techniques, and high-quality ingredients. We serve both dine-in and takeaway customers, with a menu including curries, tandoori dishes, biryani, and freshly baked breads.
Position Details
· Employment Type: Full-Time
· Salary: $75,000 – $80,000 (based on experience)
· Hours: Minimum 38 hours per week
Key Responsibilities
· Prepare and cook North Indian dishes, including curries, biryani, Indian breads, and tandoori items
· Assist in preparing Indo-Chinese dishes such as noodles, fried rice, and chilli dishes
· Support preparation of Indian desserts and sweets
· Maintain consistent food quality, taste, and presentation
· Ensure cleanliness, hygiene, and food safety standards in the kitchen
· Assist with food prep, stock control, and daily kitchen operations
Requirements
· Minimum 1 year experience in a commercial kitchen
· Experience or knowledge of North Indian cuisine (curries, tandoor, breads)
· Basic knowledge of Indo-Chinese dishes and Indian desserts
· Qualification (Certificate III/IV in Commercial Cookery required)
· Strong teamwork and communication skills
· Good understanding of food safety and hygiene practices
· Valid Australian work rights
