About the Role
Khaira Consult at Gilcrest Pty Ltd is seeking a skilled and motivated Civil Engineering Technician (ANZSCO Code: ******) to support the delivery of civil and structural engineering projects across residential, commercial and industrial sectors. As part of a multidisciplinary consultancy, the successful candidate will assist with technical documentation, project coordination, site activities, and engineering support services to help ensure projects are delivered accurately, efficiently, and in line with client and project requirements.
Key Duties and Responsibilities
The Civil Engineering Technician will be responsible for:
- Assisting in the preparation, review and coordination of civil engineering drawings, plans, specifications and technical documents
- Supporting civil and structural engineering teams in the planning and delivery of residential, commercial and industrial projects
- Collecting site data, carrying out measurements, and assisting with site inspections to support project design and delivery
- Assisting with the preparation of technical reports, project records and engineering documentation
- Supporting project coordination activities to help monitor progress, identify technical issues and maintain project schedules
- Liaising with engineers, project managers, contractors, suppliers and other stakeholders regarding technical and operational matters
- Assisting in the estimation of material requirements, quantities and project-related costs
- Inspecting works and materials to ensure compliance with approved drawings, specifications and relevant standards
- Assisting with quality control processes and maintaining accurate technical and site documentation
- Providing technical support across engineering and project delivery functions as required
Skills, Qualifications and Experience
To be considered for this position, applicants should have:
- A relevant qualification in Civil Engineering, Civil Engineering Technology, or a related field
- At least 2 years of relevant work experience in a similar role
- Knowledge of civil engineering principles, construction methods and technical standards
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings, plans and specifications
- Strong technical, organisational and problem-solving skills
- Good communication skills and the ability to work effectively within a multidisciplinary team
- Experience using relevant engineering, drafting or project documentation software will be highly regarded
