Child Care Worker (ANZSCO ******)

Full‑time / Permanent

$76,000 - $78,000 (salary will be commensurate to qualifications and experience)

Duties and responsibilities:

1. Assist in planning, implementing and supervising age‑appropriate educational programs that support children’s physical, emotional, social and cognitive development
2. Provide high‑quality care for children, ensuring their safety, wellbeing and inclusion at all times
3. Support children with daily routines including meals, rest time, toileting and hygiene practices
4. Observe and record children’s learning and behaviour to contribute to individual learning plans
5. Maintain a clean, safe and stimulating environment in accordance with health, hygiene and safety standards
6. Assist in preparing learning materials, play equipment and activity areas
7. Build positive and respectful relationships with children, families and colleagues
8. Follow centre policies, procedures and regulatory requirements under the National Quality Framework (NQF) and Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF)
9. Monitor children for signs of developmental issues or concerns and report to educators
10. Support inclusion of children with additional needs under guidance from senior staff
11. Participate in staff meetings, professional development and training as required
12. Assist with the supervision of indoor and outdoor play, excursions and special events
13. Perform general administrative tasks related to children’s attendance, incident reporting and communication with families
14. Other duties associated with the daily operation of the childcare centre, as required

Qualifications and Experience

1. Certificate III in Early Childhood Education and Care (or equivalent AQF qualification)
2. Applicants without formal qualifications must demonstrate at least 3 years of relevant experience
3. Applicants with qualifications must demonstrate at least 1 year of relevant experience in a childcare or early learning setting
4. Current Working with Children Check
5. First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis training (or willingness to complete)
