SkillQuest Solutions are seeking a qualified and experienced Chef on behalf of our client, who are renowned for delivering authentic Indian cuisine, showcasing a diverse menu of traditional curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis and vegetarian specialties prepared using aromatic spices and time-honoured techniques.

Salary - $77,000 - $80,000 plus superannuation per annum

THE ROLE:

We are seeking a talented and passionate Chef to join and lead a friendly and dynamic team. This is a fantastic opportunity to work in a fast-paced, creative environment focussed on delivering high-quality cuisine with exceptional presentation and consistency.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

• Supervise and support the kitchen team to consistently deliver exceptional results.

• Oversee and actively participate in the preparation and cooking of food and dishes for dine-in and takeaway services.

• Assist in planning and developing menus and calculating food quantities and associated costs.

• Manage the costing, budgeting, ordering of food and kitchen supplies.

• Monitor food quality, presentation and portion control, ensuring only the freshest, locally sourced ingredients are used.

• Assist in the hiring, onboarding, rostering and training of new kitchen staff.

• Monitor and maintain kitchen hygiene, storage and food handling standards.

• Adhere to OH&S and Food Safety regulations.

This role demands leadership, organisational excellence and the ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment whilst maintaining a passion for delivering innovative and exceptional cuisine.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR:

• Relevant qualification, such as a Diploma of Hospitality Management - Commercial Cookery (or agreed equivalent).

• Minimum of 3 years (preferably more) experience as a Chef in a busy restaurant (preferably in Indian cuisine).

• Experience in managing a team in a fast-paced environment, whilst maintaining high standards and morale.

• Understanding of costing, portioning and kitchen management.

• Knowledge of OH&S and Food Safety regulations.

• Excellent communication and organisational skills.

• A great work ethic and a drive to make a lasting impact.

• Available to work across weekdays and weekends.

You must have unrestricted working rights to work full time in Australia to be eligible for consideration.
