We are now seeking a qualified and experienced Chef (ANZSCO 351311) to join our kitchen team on a full-time permanent basis.
Position Overview
In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily food preparation, coordinating kitchen operations, ensuring consistent dish quality, and maintaining strict hygiene standards. The position requires a hands-on professional who can manage service efficiently while contributing to menu execution and cost control.
Key Duties & Responsibilities
- Plan, coordinate, and execute daily food preparation and cooking operations in accordance with established menu standards.
- Supervise the portioning, plating, and presentation of dishes to maintain consistency and quality.
- Organise workflow within the kitchen to ensure timely service during peak trading periods.
- Monitor food stock levels, forecast kitchen requirements, and place orders with approved suppliers.
- Assess food quality at each stage of preparation to ensure taste, appearance, and hygiene benchmarks are met.
- Enforce food safety procedures in compliance with Australian health regulations.
- Liaise with front-of-house staff and management regarding service flow and menu requirements.
- Assist in training and mentoring junior kitchen staff.
- Support cost control by managing wastage and kitchen efficiency.
Skills & Qualifications Required
- AQF Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery (or equivalent), combined with a minimum of one year of relevant on-the-job training
- AQF Diploma, Advance Diploma in related fields are highly desirable.
- Strong operational knowledge of commercial kitchen practices.
- Sound understanding of food safety standards and workplace hygiene regulations.
- Ability to work under pressure in a high-volume service environment.
- Strong time management and organisational skills.

Salary: AUD 80,000 - AUD 85,000 Annually plus Superannuation
