We are looking for a talented and passionate Chef to join our team at The Carrington, located in Shepparton, Vic. The Carrington is a vibrant venue operating seven days a week from 7am to 10pm, offering a full range of traditional hotel services including a bar, cafe and restaurant.

In this full-time role, you will be responsible for crafting and delivering high quality, creative dishes that impress our guests and contribute to an exceptional dining experience.

The role offers 38 hours per week, with additional hours as reasonably required, in line with the relevant award or employment agreement, and includes superannuation.

Applicants must have completed at least a Certificate IV in Commercial Cookery or an equivalent qualification.

Applicants must have proven experience as a Chef in a hospitality or restaurant environment. Solid culinary skills and a genuine passion for preparing high-quality, flavourful dishes. Sound knowledge of food safety standards and hygiene practices. A well groomed and professional appearance. Strong time management skills with the ability to multi-task effectively, be punctual and dependable. Excellent teamwork, communication, and interpersonal skills are a must. They must have flexibility to work various shifts, including evenings, weekends and public holidays.

You will be required to prepare and cook a wide variety of dishes from our diverse menu. Ensure all meals are delivered to the highest standards of quality, taste, and presentation. Collaborate with the kitchen team to create new menu items and enhance existing recipes. Maintain a clean, organised, and efficient kitchen environment. Comply with all food safety, hygiene, and workplace regulations. Assist in stock control, including inventory management and ordering of supplies. Oversee kitchen operations in the absence of the Head Chef. Train and support newly hired kitchen staff to ensure smooth integration and consistent standards.
