Our client, Prasiic Pty Ltd t/a The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood in Port Macquarie is looking to fill a full-time position for enthusiastic, creative and experienced Chef to work in a busy restaurant. The Grill restaurant: steak, ribs and seafood are a highly regarded venue for its Australian food and welcoming hospitality in a vibrant atmosphere.

The employer is looking for an experienced Chef with the passion and ability to drive the kitchen, create amazing food offerings and lead the team. The Chef will play a critical role in maintaining and enhancing the customer’s satisfaction.

The successful candidate will oversee the day-to-day culinary operations, including innovative menu offerings, food safety and hygiene compliance to ensure consistent and quality standards are achieved.

Minimum Requirements:

  1. Be qualified in hospitality with AQF associate degree, Advanced Diploma or Diploma (ANZSCO Skill Level 2) with at least 1 year of full-time experience as a Chef

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Overall management of kitchen production to achieve consistency and deliver exceptional products and service
  2. Planning menus, estimating food and labour costs, and ordering food supplies
  3. Monitoring quality of dishes at all stages of preparation and presentation
  4. Preparing and cooking food
  5. Maintaining high level kitchen standards and quality
  6. Assisting in the efficient running of kitchen operations
  7. Delivering outstanding food in taste and presentation
  8. Discussing food preparation issues with manager/ owner and kitchen staff
  9. Ensuring all kitchen staff understood expectations and parameters of kitchen goals and daily kitchen work
  10. Maintain cleaning schedules for equipment, storage, and work areas
  11. Ensure meals are produced on time, and sufficient quantities are available, as well as ensuring appealing plate presentation
  12. Demonstrating techniques and advising on cooking procedures
  13. Ensuring all food operations are compliant with relevant regulations
  14. Participating in the cost controlling and waste management of food
  15. Maintaining updated knowledge of local competition and restaurant industry trends

Skills and Personal Attributes:

a demonstrated track record in creating innovative menus at the highest level

exceptional shift management capabilities

high standard of personal grooming and presentation

sound knowledge of kitchen management including menu planning and costing

good working knowledge of WHS standards

highly organized with the ability to supervise and support the team in kitchen operations
