We are looking for a skilled and reliable Chef to join our team at Ampol Bungama. This is a full-time role with a salary between $70,000 and $80,000, depending on your experience. Sponsorship is available for the right candidate.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Plan and design menus that suit our customers and control food costs.
  2. Estimate food and labour costs and place orders for food, stock, and supplies.
  3. Supervise food preparation and presentation to keep a high and consistent standard.
  4. Work closely with Managers, Dietitians, and kitchen and service staff to solve any food or service issues.
  5. Demonstrate cooking techniques and guide the kitchen team on recipes and procedures.
  6. Prepare and cook a range of dishes to a high standard.
  7. Make sure all hygiene, food safety, and workplace health and safety rules are followed.
  8. Manage correct storage, freezing, and preserving of food items.
  9. Help train, coach, and support new and existing kitchen staff.
  10. Keep the kitchen clean, organised, and ready for service at all times.

What We Are Looking For

  1. Proven experience as a Chef (restaurant, café, service station, or similar).
  2. Good knowledge of cooking methods, food safety, and kitchen operations.
  3. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and stay calm under pressure.
  4. Strong attention to detail with pride in food quality and presentation.
  5. A positive attitude and a team player who communicates well with others.
  6. Willingness to work a rotating roster, including weekends and public holidays.
