Role and Responsibilities

As a Chef at Black Fire Brisbane, your main duties will include:

  1. Menu Preparation & Execution: Preparing, cooking, and presenting dishes to the highest standard in line with our innovative menu offerings.
  2. Menu Development: Collaborating with the Head Chef and kitchen team to create and update seasonal menus and daily specials.
  3. Kitchen Leadership: Leading and supporting the kitchen team to ensure smooth operations during service hours.
  4. Hygiene & Safety Compliance: Maintaining strict adherence to health, safety, and hygiene standards, ensuring a safe kitchen environment for staff and patrons.
  5. Inventory Management: Monitoring kitchen inventory levels, managing stock, and minimizing food wastage.
  6. Training & Mentoring: Training junior kitchen staff to uphold the high standards Black Fire is known for.
  7. Quality Assurance: Ensuring all dishes meet our rigorous quality control standards before they reach the table.

About You

We are looking for a Chef who is passionate about food and eager to bring creativity and dedication to our team. Ideally, you will have:

  1. Experience: A minimum of 1 years in a similar Chef role, preferably in a fine-dining or upscale restaurant setting.
  2. Culinary Expertise: Strong knowledge of modern cooking techniques, food presentation, and flavor pairings.
  3. Teamwork: A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively in a team.
  4. Leadership Skills: Proven ability to supervise and inspire junior kitchen staff.
  5. Attention to Detail: A keen eye for quality and presentation in every dish.
  6. Qualifications: Relevant culinary certifications are desirable but not mandatory.
