Salary: $ 77,000 to $80,000 plus super

Our client, Desilicious Indian Cuisine is a family-owned North Indian restaurant located in Leppington, NSW, offering a blend of traditional and contemporary Indian dishes prepared with authentic spices and fresh ingredients. The restaurant provides dine-in, takeaway, and delivery options, aiming to create a welcoming dining experience with flavorful cuisine and friendly service for the local community.

Minimum Requirements:

1. Certificate IV/Diploma in commercial Cookery with at least 2 years’ experience

Key Responsibilities:

1. Plan and prepare a variety of dishes in accordance with established recipes, quality standards, and customer preferences.
2. Prepare, cook, and present North Indian cuisine including curries, tandoori dishes, biryanis, and vegetarian specialties using authentic spices and techniques.
3. Monitor food preparation and cooking processes to ensure consistent quality, taste, and presentation of dishes.
4. Develop and update menu items in collaboration with management, incorporating traditional Indian flavours with contemporary variations where appropriate.
5. Ensure all food is prepared and stored in compliance with food safety regulations, hygiene standards, and kitchen safety procedures.
6. Manage stock levels, check the quality of raw ingredients, and assist with ordering supplies to maintain efficient kitchen operations.
7. Supervise and coordinate kitchen staff during service to ensure timely preparation and delivery of meals.
8. Maintain cleanliness and organisation of the kitchen while supporting the restaurant’s focus on authentic flavours and a positive dining experience for customers.

Skills and Personal Attributes:

•Skilled in preparing, seasoning, and cooking food according to recipes

•Understanding of food safety and OHS requirements

•Be able to work under pressure in a busy kitchen

•Be a motivated individual who has a passion for cooking
