ABOUT THE COMPANY
Join MCPBB Pty Ltd as a Wall and Floor Tiler based out of our Wangara office serving the WA metro area. We are a Western Australian manufacturing and construction services business. The company is associated with the wider Delstrat operations and provides a range of supporting services and products used across different stages of the building and construction process. Our business activities include earthmoving, crane hire, waste and bin hire, joinery, cabinetry and building material supply.
We are currently looking for an experienced Wall and Floor Tiler to join our growing team based in Perth.
To be considered for this opportunity, you must have a minimum of 10 years’ experience working in a similar position, must be based in Perth with full driver’s license and must have full Australian working rights. In addition to perform the main duties as a wall and floor tiler, you are expected to lead the team by supervising the activities of the wall and floor tiling team. You are expected to lay ceramic, clay, slate, marble, glass and other types of tiles on external and internal walls and floors to provide protective and decorative finishes.
About the job
lPlan and coordinate with the wall and floor tiling in the leading position to delegate relevant tasks and works for the project;
lLook at plans, measure and mark surfaces to be covered and lay out work;
lPrepare wall and floor surfaces by removing old tiles, grout, cement and adhesive;
lFill all holes and cracks, and then clean surfaces;
lAttach tiles to surfaces, using correct adhesive, making sure that patterned tiles match;
lUse tile-cutting tools to cut and shape tiles needed for edges, corners, or around obstacles such as fittings and pipes;
lSpace and even the tiles by using tools such as spirit levels, squares and plumb-lines and laser levels;
lPrepare and apply grout, remove excess grout, clean and polish tiles;
lLay floors of cement, granolithic, terrazzo or similar composition;
lApply waterproofing systems.
A remuneration package between $76,600 and$80,000 will be negotiated with the successful candidate depending on experience and workmanship standards.
