About the Business

Cadney Homestead Roadhouse is a well-known outback stop located on the Stuart Highway in South Australia. The roadhouse provides meals, refreshments, and hospitality services to travellers, tourists, and local workers. We are currently seeking an experienced and motivated Café Manager to oversee the daily operations of our café and dining area.

Position Overview

The Café Manager will be responsible for managing day-to-day operations, supervising staff, maintaining high customer service standards, and ensuring the café runs efficiently.

Key Responsibilities

1. Work with Chefs to develop and update menus based on customer demand and seasonal availability.
2. Plan and coordinate special functions, group bookings, and events when required.
3. Manage purchasing of food, beverages, and supplies while maintaining pricing within budget guidelines.
4. Maintain accurate records of stock levels, orders, and financial transactions.
5. Ensure dining and service areas meet health, safety, and hygiene regulations and are clean and well-presented at all times.
6. Monitor customer satisfaction and address feedback or concerns promptly.
7. Recruit, train, and supervise waiting staff and other café employees.
8. Prepare staff rosters and manage daily staff scheduling.
9. Oversee daily café operations to ensure smooth and efficient service.
10. Monitor sales performance and assist with implementing strategies to improve revenue.
11. Handle reservations, welcome guests, and assist with taking orders when required.
12. Manage cash handling, point-of-sale systems, and end-of-day reporting.
13. Ensure excellent customer service standards are maintained at all times.
14. Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation and service of meals.

Skills and Experience

1. Previous experience in hospitality or café/restaurant management.
2. Strong leadership and team management skills.
3. Good organisational and communication abilities.
4. Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and hospitality standards.
5. Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and manage multiple tasks.
