As an Automation Solutions Installation & Service Technician, you’ll take the lead on installing, servicing, and supporting breakdowns of industrial equipment across diverse client sites. Based in Eagle Farm, Brisbane, the role offers hands-on variety with some interstate and overseas travel, all while being backed by a collaborative and knowledgeable team.
The Role
- Lead and execute mechanical installations, servicing, and breakdown support for industrial automation machinery
- Troubleshoot and repair mechanical and electrical faults, including motors, drives, conveyors, and control systems
- Perform basic welding, machining, and fabrication as required
- Support Rockwell PLC/HMI systems (experience highly regarded)
- Ensure compliance with safety and environmental standards
- Maintain accurate service documentation, reports, and warranty records
- Coordinate with suppliers to ensure availability of spare parts
- Provide project management and on-site customer support as needed

About You
- Experience in machinery installation, field service, or maintenance
- Project management and field service experience will be highly regarded
- Trade qualification (e.g. Mechanical Fitter) or Diploma in Mechatronics/Mechanical Engineering
- Able to diagnose faults with servos Drivers, VSDs, sensors, cabling, mechanical systems such as bearings, gearboxes, belts, motors conveyors
- Solid experience with hydraulics, pneumatics, pumps, conveyors, and drive systems
- Experienced in Lathe, Milling, Grinding and Drilling operations
- Competent in welding and basic machining (MIG & ARC)
- Strong PC literacy and ability to produce technical documentation
- Familiarity with PLC/HMI systems, particularly Rockwell, is an advantage
- Positive communicator with good time management and a proactive mindset
