About the Role
Hillside Architecture & Interior is seeking a motivated and skilled Architectural Draftsperson to join our growing team. This role offers an excellent opportunity to work across a diverse range of residential and commercial projects. You will assist in the preparation and development of architectural plans, sketches, and documentation, playing a key part in ensuring our projects meet the highest standards of quality and compliance. You will collaborate closely with architects, engineers, and other design professionals while gaining valuable hands-on experience in architectural drafting and project delivery.
Key Responsibilities
- Interpret architectural plans, regulations, and codes of practice to ensure compliance and accuracy across all project stages.
- Prepare and develop preliminary sketches, working drawings, and specifications for residential and commercial projects.
- Revise, edit, and update plans, drawings, and documentation to reflect design changes and project requirements.
- Assist in the preparation of documentation packages, including Tender, Construction, and As-Built packages.
- Create and maintain schedules for materials, finishes, windows, and doors.
- Develop 3D models and visualizations to support design concepts and client presentations.
- Coordinate and document Building Information Modelling (BIM) for ongoing projects.
- Liaise with clients, builders, surveyors, engineers, and other design specialists to ensure project requirements are effectively met.
- Provide technical support during the construction phase, including site visits and assisting in resolving on-site issues.
- Assist with contract administration and work closely with stakeholders to support the successful delivery of projects.
Qualifications and Skills:
- A Bachelor's degree or higher in Architecture, Building Design, Architectural Drafting, or a related field.
- At least 1 year of relevant professional experience as an Architectural Draftsperson (post-qualification experience is required).
- Proficiency in CAD software (AutoCAD, Revit, etc.) and other relevant design tools.
- Strong knowledge of building codes, regulations, and industry standards in Australia.
- Experience in preparing and editing architectural plans and construction documentation.
- Ability to work both independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
- Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, with the ability to liaise effectively with clients and project stakeholders.
- Excellent attention to detail and problem-solving abilities.
- Fluency in both English and Mandarin is preferred to support communication with diverse clients and stakeholders.
